Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role within our organization, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This individual will lead the accounting team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations. The primary responsibilities will include overseeing team processes, managing the collection process, leading the month-end close process, handling reporting duties, and managing the payroll process.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Develop team members through coaching, training, and mentorship to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the collection process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and receipt of payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Develop strategies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Provide analysis as needed for reporting to interested parties.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary financial data and reconcile accounts.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Oversee the payroll process

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field;
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance role, with 1-3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience SAGE Intacct.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • The ability to exude professionalism in all ways at all times
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
