JOB SUMMARY
The Trumpf Trumatic Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Trumpf Trumatic punch / laser systems and associated machinery. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software components to ensure optimal machine performance. The technician will provide on-site service to customers, offering efficient solutions and contributing to the success of Trumpf’s customer service operations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Install new Trumpf Trumatic punch/laser systems at customer locations, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and configuration.
- Verify that all systems and components are functioning as expected, including tooling, software, and control systems.
- Conduct initial testing and system diagnostics to guarantee the equipment meets performance standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on Trumatic punch/laser systems to minimize downtime and ensure machine longevity.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues in Trumatic punch/laser systems, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Provide emergency repair services as needed, addressing issues related to machine malfunctions, tool failures, and software glitches.
- Provide technical support to customers by answering questions and resolving operational issues promptly.
- Offer on-site training for customers on the proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures for their Trumatic punch/laser systems.
- Assist customers in understanding machine capabilities, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring optimal utilization of their equipment.
- Maintain detailed service reports for all tasks performed, including installation, repairs, and maintenance.
- Document machine issues, service activities, and recommendations for improvement or parts replacement.
- Provide regular feedback to management regarding customer service issues and potential product enhancements.
- Collaborate with the engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve service processes.
- Stay updated on the latest Trumpf technology, Trumatic machine models, and software enhancements.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current with industry trends and enhance technical skills.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical degree preferred
- Technical certifications related to CNC, punch press, or industrial machinery are preferred.
- At least 2-4 years of experience working with industrial machinery, specifically CNC punch presses or Trumpf Trumatic punch/laser systems.
- Proven track record in troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining Trumatic punch/laser systems or similar equipment.
- Experience with CNC programming, mechanical systems, and industrial controls.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Driving or flying to customer sites
- Long periods of standing, kneeling, and bending to work on equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs periodically.
- Ability to push/pull.
- Ability to focus and plan trips across various locations.
